It is surprising how many parents with young children and the associated time constraints begin to neglect their dog's toenail length. Nails that are allowed to grow untended often become what I call dirt sharpened into razor like talons good for disemboweling an antelope. Such a nail made this slash in my forearm. Just think of the scarring both physical and mental that this could have done to a child's face.
