I'm extremely pleased.
We are very glad to have him home. I am totally amazed at how much
calmer he is now. He has not let Emma leave his sight though. The kids
are having to work on their "command voices" but are doing pretty well.
We are having to emphasize to them that he is not to just do "tricks"
but that their commands must come with a purpose.
Thanks again for your hard work. I'm sure I will be getting back to you
from time to time for advice and will share your cards with some of our
friends.
Doug, we just can't believe Scout. She has not strayed out at Dripping Springs since I last emailed you. My husband said he wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it. We are so proud of her. Lots of praise seems to be working. We can now trust her almost as much as Troop - who is still doing great. Thanks again for all you've done.
My favorite results of the training is that he has become extremely
affectionate to me. I have also learned that I can calm him down just by
massaging his ears. He really loves to curl up with us now and be rubbed
all over. I can honestly say that I am crazy about that boy now.
His Highness is soooo much better!!! Yes, Dexter is just another success story.
I have already had three people ask for your business card. I think Dexter had a great time at your house. He seems very calm and happy. We took him to Boudin's house and the two dogs were behaved!...we never could have done that before. We are walking him as much as we can, and he actually comes to me when I call him....WOW!!!
You are truly "The Austin Dog Whisperer!"
Thanks again
Just wanted to let you know how Ruby is doing. Her demeanor is calmer on her return home. The potty training has gone beautifully. Whenever I take her outside and tell her to potty, she gets down to business quickly. I was afraid that she would not do her business this morning because of the rain (she has always disliked wet grass, is wet grass something that you worked on?). She went out like a good little soldier and did her thing quickly, much to my relief. I have also been very pleased with her progress while riding in the car. She stays in her seat and does not try to crawl over to me now. Since she has been home she likes to keep me in her sight. I think that you made some great progress with her.
Thanks again,
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful dog behaviorists right here
in our own neighborhood. Perhaps you have seen the sign on his car..... "Human and canine Training"
Doug Becker, "the dog whisperer" I am sure would not mind me
giving out his number cause this is what he does..... 448-3112.
I know several people who have taken their dog to Doug, including my
mother, and have been very pleased with the results. The dog stays
with him for a bit and he loves them and walks them and they hang out
in his home. He's great, and he's in the hood.
We are thrilled with the new and improved Groovy! We have enjoyed relaxing walks with little to no problem. We had a short walk last night and that was nice and we were out at 7 am this morning with both dogs … off leash at the park. They were awesome!
I think you did a great job training him. I can see that the most he trusts
us, the more secure he is, and thus less separation anxiety.
Doug, I cannot begin to tell you what a delight he is!
I am in total awe! You have done an amazing job "de-punking" my
little Tucker. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Vicky is doing really wonderfully well, and the bonus for me is that I'm
enjoying her SO much more that I'm much happier about spending time with her
for walks, etc. I was suspicious that her new compliance would disappear as
soon as she was back at home, but she has not reverted to old patterns, and
I will really work to keep the humans in her environment behaving
consistently. She's very cooperative whenever we ask her to do something,
and seems to enjoy the job of being a full member of our household.
Things are going well. Daisy is even sweeter (I didn't know that was
possible) than she was before.
Thank you for taking such stellar care of Coty.
I am always singing your praises. But I really think Coty is your best
advertisement. She's with me pretty constantly, and people are always
commenting on her exemplary behavior.
Yesterday we went to a friend's 80th Birthday party on a ranch. Barbeque.
Dancing. We took Coty, and you would have been proud at how she behaved.
She was off leash, and was attentive and a joy to have with us. Many people
came over and said that they wish they could bring their dog to something
like that, but that he/she would never be trusted to listen/behave in an
appropriate manner.
Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I appreciate everything you do.
He is doing much better!!!!!!!!!!! He really is. I think you were exactly right, it was me, not him. I was too much of a mush with him.
Big difference in her attitude when she came back. Not quite as jumpy although she still takes it personally if we discipline the other dogs. Quite a bit calmer now and when we are out walking she comes back on her own to me after running off a ways. She also comes back immediately (well almost) when I call her. A lot calmer in the house as well and she is much more attentive.
Thanks so much for all your work with her; I think she had a great time with your gang.
Susan
I got your e-mail address from our neighbor. She couldn't say enough good things about you.
Arlo is doing great! I'm amazed at how much calmer and happier he seems. Our walks are enjoyable now, and he really likes sleeping w/ me or by the bed. Took him to southpaws yesterday, and he did really well. Sonya (the owner) is going to try to introduce him to as many people as possible throughout the day while he's there.
Thanks again for taking such good care of Iris. I know she feels a special bond with you.
Thanks to you Bandit has a forever home! He is just a different dog since he got back. I will be contacting you after the first of the year to arrange for him and Bella to come back for some additional training that I think they can both use. We really are believers on what you can do! You are the Cesar Milan of Texas!
Thanks so much. This was the best $600 I have ever spent and my daughter has been really appreciative. I think she knew she had a potential disaster on her hands and didn’t know where to start. Consistency will be the hardest. For me, finding ways to say “No” without saying “No” is a challenge. I have another friend who is asking for your name.
heidi is doing great!
YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB...
SHE IS SO HAPPY, LESS HYPER, ACTUALLY VERY CALM...
To the best dog trainer in the whole world. You really made my life with Griffin possible!
Thank you for everything you have done for our dogs…..training, awesome hikes, love.
It's great to see your website! Good job. It will be nice to be able to direct people to it when I tell them about you. My testimonial for you would be, "I wouldn't still have this dog if it hadn't been for you and all the time and attention you gave Harper. He's a great dog today because you worked with both of us and taught me how to be the alpha in our pack of two."

We highly recommend Doug Becker's Canine & Human Training to anyone that needs help understanding and managing their dogs in a humane and effective manner.
Doug has helped us with four of our dogs over the past 8 years - a mix of puppies and older dogs - all with excellent results. As testimony to his positive techniques and genuine rapport with his canine students - our dogs always run to him with obvious recognition and affection the next time they see him even after several years.
